In a surprise grant outside the usual petition conference cycle, SCOW accepts review of a case involving the evidentiary requirements for an annual review of a protective placement issue.
The petition is not publicly available, so we don’t have access to the issues presented. However, in reviewing our post on the 8 page decision of the court of appeals, it looks to be a straightforward sufficiency appeal involving the annual review of a protective placement order. Frankly, we don’t know what issues are lurking beneath the surface. However, there must have been something to motivate SCOW’s increasingly rare grant. We await the oral arguments with interest!
