The Wisconsin State Public Defenders fall into one of three main categories:
Assigned Counsel Division (ACD)

Appellate Division

Who is eligible for representation?
People with adult criminal cases are required by state law to meet financial guidelines in order to qualify for State Public Defender representation.
How does it work?
We know that the legal system can be scary and overwhelming, especially if you don’t know what to expect. The staff at one of our 40 local SPD offices can help.
