Media inquiries

The SPD’s public affairs team responds to media inquiries and connects reporters with our expert attorneys across the state. They can be reached at [email protected].

Please note that under Wisconsin Supreme Court ethics rules (SCR 20:1.6), our firm is strictly prohibited from providing information relating to client representation or even acknowledging whether an individual is a client without their express consent.

In a formal ethics opinion, the State Bar of Wisconsin states that “even information that may be available from public sources remains protected as long as it is information relating to the representation of a client.”

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance

The Wisconsin State Public Defender (SPD) is committed to full implementation and meeting the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”) and Wisconsin Statute § 106.52 (Public Places of Accommodation). The SPD will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.
